Russia & Eurasia
At the Center for Realpolitik and American Values, we view Russia as a pivotal actor in the emerging multipolar world order. In contrast to the interventionist and often confrontational stance of liberal internationalist frameworks, we advocate for a pragmatic approach to Moscow—one rooted in mutual respect and strategic cooperation. Russia is not an inherent adversary of the United States but a sovereign state shaped by its own unique cultural, historical, and geopolitical imperatives.
We emphasize the importance of fostering dialogue with Russia on areas of shared interest, such as counterterrorism, arms control, and energy security. Recognizing Russia’s legitimate sphere of influence, particularly in Eurasia, is critical to avoiding unnecessary conflict and advancing American interests without falling into the trap of ideological crusades. Through a balanced and principled Realpolitik strategy, the United States can address points of contention while laying the groundwork for stability, cooperation, and a more secure future.
